Draganee Racing Press Release

NICOLE HOFFMAN OF DRAGANEE RACING FINISHES SECOND AT JENNINGS GP BUT MAINTAINS OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS LEAD

Jennings, Fla - April 5, 2004

In Sunday's Ultra Lightweight Superbike race, Nicole Hoffman competed against the largest showing to date at Jennings GP to take second place aboard her Aprilia RS 250. The combined Florida and Southeast regions of the Championship Cup Series (CCS) brought over 500 entries to the two-day events at this North Florida track, the largest to date.

Hoffman earned a second place finish behind James Hillis after having a bad start to the race. “I had a lot of catching up to do after I let the clutch out far too early and bogged the start,” said Nicole. Going into turn one, Hoffman was right behind the pack, attempting to pass in several turns. Getting caught behind these riders allowed for the first place rider to gain some time. “By the time I got around the other riders, he was too far ahead to catch. My lap times were getting better and better each lap, but I just didn’t have enough time in the 6-lap race to catch up.”

Having attended only a track day but no formal racing practice sessions two years ago at Jennings GP, this was Hoffman’s first race at this track. The all day practice session on Saturday helped Hoffman to get re-acquainted with the track. “Coming off of Daytona in February you really have to switch gears. Daytona is high banking, high speed but at Jennings the turns are much more tight and technical – a great place for my Aprilia RS 250.”
