NICOLE HOFFMAN OF DRAGANEE RACING SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN 'DUCATI DONNE', AN EXCLUSIVE MOTORCYCLE RACE SCHOOL AT THE LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
PORT ORANGE, Fla. - September 4, 2001
Draganee Racing announces today that racer Nicole Hoffman will participate in 'Ducati Donne' sponsored by Ducati USA, which will be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 27, 2001. This exclusive event is a women's only roadracing school for females who race or intend to race. 'Ducati Donne' will take place during Ducati's first ever international gathering of Ducati enthusiasts in America, DRA 2001; "Ducati REVS America".
After an exhaustive national screening of applicants for the program, Nicole was notified of her acceptance to the school of 30, which will be marshaled by Ducati World Superbike stars Ben Bostrom and Troy Bayliss, with an introduction by former World Motorcycle Champion Freddie Spencer. Ducati has set aside 15 of their limited edition 996SPS hypersport motorcycles for the school. Probably no other race school in history has had such an exclusive array of machinery and personnel.
Ducati plans to expel the belief that women do not ride motorcycles and help pave the way for more women to pursue professional racing careers. The event could not have come at a better time for Nicole. With podium finishes in seven of eleven events entered, Nicole stated, "I am excited to see Ducati recognize the importance of introducing women into competitive motorsports activities and provide a critical platform for female racers. I hope that my involvement in 'Ducati Donne' will assist in the support of potential sponsors, more importantly increase my competitive skills to participate on a national level, and of course, scare the boys!"
Draganee Racing is comprised of two motorcycle roadracers, the husband and wife team of Jeffrey and Nicole Hoffman. Both are active racers in Southeast Region of the Championship Cup Series (CCS). Hailing from Port Orange, Florida which provides a central location to all Southeastern roadcourses including Daytona International Speedway, Roebling Road Raceway, Road Atlanta, Moroso Motosports Park, Carolina Motorsports Park and Homestead International Speedway, Jeff races in the Heavyweight divisions on his GSXR 750 and Nicole races in Lightweight Divisions on her Aprilia RS250. In the 2001 season the team has placed in the top ten in points in their respective classes and vying for a national championship during the Race of Champions being held October 17-21, 2001 at Daytona International Speedway.
