Roebing Road Raceway, CCS - July 24-25, 2004: This weekend was celebrated as the Paul Farrell Memorial weekend. Paul was the race director for CCS, who on his way to VIR died from a heart attack. Paul is surely missed by all, especially us - we still expect to see Paul's face and hear his voice at Roebling Road. The weekend's winner of the Amateur Middleweight Superbike race was awarded a trophy in Paul's name. The presentation was made on Sunday at the riders meeting. Also, proceeds from those who were fined from missing the riders meeting went to benefit the Wegman Fund, a non-profit association that helps seriously injured riders.

A win came this weekend on Sunday as Jeff left the field of Amateur racers in Formula 40. Breaking away from the pack early in the race Jeff worked to make his way up to the Expert riders while capturing a first place finish. Earlier in the day Nicole placed second in Ultra Lightweight Superbike. On Saturday Nicole entered the first race of the day, GT Lights - a 25 minute endurance race. Battling it out with a field of SV650s, Nicole finished sixth. Early Saturday afternoon Jeff earned 3rd place in Formula 40 - a very close race between the top 3 riders. Just before the afternoon showers arrived in Ultra Lightweight Superbike Nicole experienced some mechanical problems as she tried getting a good drive out of turn 2. With a significant lack of power she fell to second place, holding her own until the end of the race. The result was a blown spark plug.

There were a number of photographers at the track and photos are coming - check back soon!

Speaking of photographers, there was a professional photographer at the track with a video camera filming several riders including Draganee Racing. We were interviewed to discuss how racing at the grassroots level is a family affair. We hope that his pilot is successfully sold to a network - we think it would make a great story and would be great exposure for amateur motorcycle racing.

DRAGANEE RACING GAINS AN ADDITIONAL POTENTIAL TEAM MATE
Our friend Bart participated in his second race school this year on his GSX-R1000. With headlights taped up and bike prepped for the track, Bart did awesome in his quest to become a racer! After some convincing, a new set of leathers, helmet, gloves, boots, back protector and more, Bart has been bitten by the bug. Look for more on Bart's adventures...next step, race bodywork.
